Deck the halls this season with these fun ideas to spread festive joy to every room in your house with simple accessories and a festive colour scheme.

Rethink location

Why not shake things up with a little relocation? After all, the Christmas tree might want a fresh perspective this year. Instead of your usual spots, place your Christmas tree into a different corner or room. Alternatively, add a little Christmas tree to your child’s bedroom or as a festive accessory to your home office desk. And it’s not all about the tree – hang your wreath on a mantelpiece, on or above your headboard, or on a wall. Hanging your Christmas stocking in a new place (think bookcases, dining room chairs, or even on a feature wall) is a great way to add a touch of the festive to any room.

Add rich, seasonal colours

Candles and fairy lights are Christmas décor magic! Suitable from kitchens to bathrooms, candlelight adds mood, warmth and festive spirit. You don’t even need to invest in a new set – just wrap some festive ribbon around your existing candles! And while you have that ribbon at hand, why not wrap it around your bannister for a simple yet effective festive statement.

Fairy lights achieve the same purpose as candles but are a safer option for families with small children.  

Give each room a festive touch with accessories

By adding a simple festive touch here and there can be highly effective in spreading Christmas joy throughout your home.

Start with a festive doormat to welcome holiday guests, hang vintage brass bells on door handles, and wrap artwork and picture frames in Christmas wrapping paper. Wrapping empty cardboard boxes in festive paper creates beautiful decorations under the tree, on windowsills or corners of a room.
