Decided to buy after reading the reviews and I have to say I agree with them. It's a good looking bed, decent quality but a bit time consuming to build. It took 2 of us about 3 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

A pocket sprung mattress is a type of mattress where each individual spring is encased in its own fabric pocket. Unlike traditional open coil mattresses where springs are interconnected, pocket springs operate independently. This means each spring moves on its own, providing tailored support to different parts of your body. It’s like having a mattress that custom-adjusts to every contour, ensuring a restful and supportive sleep.

On average, a quality pocket sprung mattress can last between 8 to 10 years. Of course, this depends on various factors like the quality of materials used, how well you care for it, and the weight and sleeping habits of the users. Regularly rotating your mattress and using a mattress protector can extend its lifespan, keeping it comfortable and supportive for years to come.

Absolutely! Pocket sprung mattresses are often recommended for those who suffer with back pain, because they provide excellent support and distribute your weight evenly. The independent springs adapt to the shape of your body, supporting your spine's natural alignment. This targeted support can relieve pressure points and reduce back pain, making it a popular choice for those seeking a comfortable and therapeutic sleep surface.

The main difference lies in their construction and feel. Pocket sprung mattresses use individually wrapped springs to provide support, offering a bouncy and breathable sleep experience. Memory foam mattresses, on the other hand, are made of dense foam that contours to your body shape, providing a more enveloping, “sinking in” sensation. Pocket sprung mattresses tend to be cooler and more responsive, while memory foam offers excellent motion isolation and pressure relief.

The number of springs in a pocket sprung mattress can vary widely, typically ranging from 1,000 to 3,000 springs. Generally, a higher spring count can offer better support and comfort, as it means more springs are working individually to support your body. However, the quality of the springs and overall construction also play a crucial role. A mattress with 1,000 high-quality springs can be superior to one with 2,000 lower-quality springs.
